Sedgwick County Zoo’s largest fundraising effort and one of the most successful events of its kind in the nation will take place on September 11th. At Zoobilee, patrons can check out the animal exhibits while listening to live music and feasting on food and drinks from more than seventy of Wichita’s favorite restaurants. There are also hundreds of items in a silent auction and a live auction to sponsor the animals. Proceeds from the event go to support the daily operation of the zoo. Howerton + White did a great job with the design work and we were happy to take part in producing this commercial for the event. Click here for more info about supporting this community asset!

Intake Studio, the visual effect, animation, production and editorial boutique, was chosen by Armstrong Shank to produce, shoot, create visual effects, edit and composite a national television campaign for its client, The Golf Warehouse and their specialty website, BaseballSavings.com.

The creative team at the full-service advertising, marketing, public relations and interactive agency collaborated with Intake Studio on eight FX-driven spots promoting the online catalog retailer’s equipment, apparel and accessories, which utilized a fusion of cutting-edge production and visual effect technology to bring home the client’s message.

Troy Lott, president of Intake Studio, and the commercial production company’s director of post production noted, “Armstrong Shank came to use with a great concept, script and general storyboard. Our team evolved these elements into a campaign that takes the viewer into a three-dimension world, creating a series of spots that build upon its contemporary brand.

Intake creative director Heath Balderston and the agency collaborated closely throughout every phases of the production. DP Todd Schwartz shot the actors on green screen using the state-of-the-art Red Camera. The design elements were created in a 3D world on Cinema 4D and then composited into a more realistic 2D environment.

The most challenging component of the job was taking composited elements and giving them level of realism,” noted Balderston. “Working in Red’s high-resolution format enabled us accomplish that with its unique ability to maximize flexibility in the post production arena. The format allowed us to manipulate the visual effects more effectively and achieve the level of keying and detail needed to transition the look of the spot from visual effect-driven image to a more realistic style.”

“More and more frequently Intake is getting an opportunity to create spots for the national arena, and we’re thrilled about the opportunity to have our work reach a broader audience, ” said Lott. “Armstrong Shank brought us creative concepts that were both fun and challenging to produce. Their team once again created a fresh, innovative idea and worked closely with us – from its inception to the completion – providing us with the level of collaboration needed to take this campaign to the next level,” added Lott.

The American Red Cross Heroes Breakfast is a first time event for the Midway-Kansas Chapter that will recognize local citizens for their acts of great bravery, dedication and service to Wichita. The Heroes event grew out of the desire to develop an event that is closely related to the Red Cross Mission – “Saving lives through prevention, preparedness and response” and all proceeds directly benefit local programs. As the video sponsor of this December 14th fundraising event, we’re producing the stories of these local individuals whose extraordinary acts of courage or kindness make them a hero.

Visit the Heroes Breakfast website through October 15th to nominate a trained professional or a good Samaritan whose actions saved a life.

A commercial for The Golf Warehouse brought live video shot with a RED Camera together with design elements created in Cinema4D in the hands of Intake Studio, to create this visually compelling ad..

Just last fall Intake Studio, the multi award-winning Wichita-based boutique specializing in the TV commercial arena, tested the waters in Kansas City with the launch of a satellite office. Now, just eight-months later, it’s clear to Intake’s president, Troy Lott, from the positive feedback that the KC annex has attracted, that the new division has found a niche in the Kansas City advertising community, and it’s time to do more than just get his feet wet. In response to demand for its services, the satellite company has relocated to an expansive new renovated space in an historic train depot in West Bottom, downtown’s emerging artistic Mecca.

Motion graphics artist Brian Simpson is the first member of the KC sister company’s team to be signed. Formerly of Barkley Evergreen and Partners, Inc., Simpson brings a diverse background in motion graphics, design and editing to the table. The Sonic’s 2009 and 2010 Lee National Denim Day ‘Survivor’s Stories’ commercial campaigns, as well as the music video ‘Caney Mountain,’ which garnered a silver national ADDY Award in 2009, are among the diverse roster of projects on his reel. At the same time, Intake Studio’s flagship boutique in Wichita continues to grow with the addition of editor Kevin Wildt. A sought-after music video director and still photographer, Wildt brings a fresh perspective to Intake’s editorial services.

“We’re very proud of our loyal following of return clients and the dozen of awards Intake Studio/Wichita has garnered,” says Lott. “We’ve already doubled our space and staff in Wichita. The next logical step in our expansion is to bring the same commitment to quality, innovation, personal attention, over-the-top client services – and our cost-effective approach – to a larger market in a more central location. Our new space in Kansas City does just that.”

Intake Studio’s new KC division is built upon the six-year old Wichita-based flagship company’s reputation as a multi award-winning visual effects, animation, motion graphics, production, editorial and finishing boutique dedicated to providing agencies with a design-driven approach to video content for multiple platforms. Partners Troy Lott, creative director Heath Balderston and DP Todd Schwartz head up its team of artists and provide a one-stop, concept through completion creative environment.

Intake Studio, the Wichita-based motion graphics, VFX, animation, editorial and production company, has opened a satellite division in Kansas City, Missouri, reports president Troy Lott (pictured, left, with fellow principals Heath Balderston and Todd Schwartz). The new space expands the company’s offerings for commercials, cross-platform advertising and interactive media and provides a centrally-located creative resource for agencies in the region. Earlier, Intake Studio’s flagship office doubled its size and talent roster. It netted a dozen wins at this year’s Wichita and Tulsa ADDYs, including Best of Broadcasting honors for its animated Tulsa Health Department campaign. “Intake Studio is like the little engine that could — steadily building a reputation and brand that reflect our philosophy and commitment to our craft as we gain momentum, attract more challenging work and maximize the production value our clients get out of every dollar,” says Lott.
